You’ve been all over the world surfing, and you recently went to Nosara, Costa Rica with us! How would you describe this secret little surf spot?

Nosara is a magical place. The beach is unlike most in the world. It's a little gem in the jungle with an amazing community of beautiful people from all over the world, along with some gorgeous sites to see, places to stay, and delicious food to eat. The beach is long and spread out, so it never seems too crowded even when there are dozens of people. It also offers waves for all skill level. The waves are clean and organized, and not too overwhelming for those who want to learn. I highly recommend it and would definitely go back.

If Nosara, Costa Rica was a song what would it be?

Either Winse by Healy or Brunch at the Bodega by Flamingosis.

What have the waves and ocean taught you?

I feel like surfing described in three words would be: balance, focus, and gratitude. As is in life.

Can you tell us a little bit about your company and what role surfing plays in your business?

I've been fortunate enough to get pretty involved in brand management and product marketing, which has given me the opportunity to partner with some really cool companies in the surf/beach lifestyle industry like Waterloo and Howler Brothers. With the ability to work remotely and travel, I try to make the most of my trips by developing content and inspiration from our travels.

What surf spots are next on your bucket list?

I've been dreaming about traveling to El Salvador, West Java, and the South of France to surf. And will soon be heading to La Saladita, Mexico for Mexilogfest in April and then Punta de Mita, Mexico in May, with plans to travel to Outer Banks (North Carolina) and the upper East Coast later this year!

What are three things you never travel without?

Boardies, camera and music.

Tegan Gainan and his lovely wife Danielle Gainan joined us on our surf trip to Nosara, Costa Rica. They live in Austin, Texas. You can follow Tegan’s surf adventures at @tegangainan
